Our service options include a funeral at sea, or a memorial cruise that can be customized to your wishes. The scattering of ashes or the burial of an urn can be combined with a longer archipelago cruise so that loved ones can gather together to honor the memory of their loved one.
Speeches or music can be given at the event in memory of the deceased. A coffee break, lunch or dinner can also be booked to accompany the memorial cruise - according to your wishes.

Example of a 3-hour memorial cruise in Helsinki

Arrival at the agreed departure port in the Helsinki city center. The ship's captain welcomes the family and provides more information about the event. Guests are free to ask questions and share their wishes with the staff. The ship's bow is directed towards Abrahaminluoto, which is located a few kilometers south of the Helsinki city center. During the trip, you can admire the beauty of the archipelago and nature, as well as familiar island destinations such as Suomenlinna and Särkkä.

Arrival near Abrahaminluoto, where the cremation area designated by the City of Helsinki is located. From the area, you can see the nearby Harmaja Island and lighthouse, as well as the magnificent silhouette of the city of Helsinki directly to the north. The captain steers the bow of the ship towards the wind and current so that the boat remains as still as possible during the ceremony. The relatives can now scatter the ashes or lower the urn into the sea and have a moment of silence in memory of their loved one. The captain takes down the coordinates while the relatives lower roses into the sea and give beautiful speeches. There is never a rush at the ceremony and the relatives will let you know when they are ready to continue the journey.

When the relatives are ready, the journey continues with a memorial cruise around the Helsinki archipelago and enjoying the unique landscapes. During the cruise, you can have coffee and at the same time remember the loved one with speeches, songs or poems. Our staff will help with the catering and will be present throughout the cruise.

Arriving back at shore, our staff thanks you and the captain gives you a certificate of funeral at sea, indicating the final resting place of the loved one.
